Flexible Holiday Childcare

Holiday Childcare NottinghamHave you planned your childcare for the summer holidays yet?

Do you need flexible childcare to fit in with your working hours over the summer?

@Home Childcare has the ideal solution!

Summer holidays can present parents with a challenge of finding flexible childcare to suit their working hours particularly if they work shifts. There is also the added pressure of how to vary childcare so that children can spend some time at home and are not necessarily in holiday clubs for weeks on end.

When parents ring to enquire about holiday care, they tend to ask similar questions so we have compiled a Q&A feature with some of the most popular questions we get asked about our holiday care.

What kind of holiday childcare do you offer?
@Home Childcare (@HCC) is flexible summer childcare so it can be tailored to suit your needs. You can mix and match the number of days or half days you need to fit in with your working hours. Families often combine our holiday care with relatives or holiday clubs especially if children prefer to have a few days of individual attention spend a day or two at home. @HCC is ideal for families who need extended childcare at the beginning or end of the day. We can provide childcare for:

  • Full-days
  • Half days
  • Before & After Childcare (combined with holiday clubs)

Why should I choose @HCC holiday care?
@HCC is flexible so you can combine it with other childcare such as holiday clubs and nurseries. Our other benefits include:

  • Variety - children enjoy variety, and for many, the ideal childcare would be some home childcare combined with a few days of holiday club or relatives.
  • The care is provided in the comfort of your home so the childcare can be tailored to their needs  and it is more convenient for you as there is no more running around to collect your child from different childcare settings
  • Home childcare is tailored to suit your children’s needs. Our childcarers will plan structured days with activities and outings as well as ensuring that your children get some ‘chill out’ time for free play.
  • Extended hours  - we can cover early in the morning from 7am or later in the evening until 10pm or 11pm

What are your holiday childcarers like?
The bulk of our holiday childcarers are experienced students or graduates. Many work for us during term time providing before/after school care to families. Our childcarers are skilled in areas such as languages and sports. The summer holiday is an ideal time for children to develop extra-curricular skills such as music or sports, and our talented childcarers can definitely help with this! Occasionally, we have teachers or childminders interested in earning working over the summer holidays. All of our childcarers are thoroughly vetted and some are Ofsted registered. Our recruitment process includes:

  • A face to face interview
  • CRB Enhanced Disclosure
  • Reference Checked

Our childcarers will plan a programme of varied and fun activities to suit your children’s needs. They will follow your home routine such as prepare snacks /meals, supervise music practice and accompany to organised activities.

Examples of home activities:
baking, garden play, picnics, arts & crafts, reading, games, imaginary play,

Examples of outdoor activities:
swimming, scavenger hunts, outings, ice skating, children’s exhibitions,

Example of drop in group activities
These are group activities that your childcarer can ‘drop in’ on with your children and meet other @HCC childcarers and children. The activities include: cinema mornings, nature trails, mini sports day, themed picnics

Can I use my tax credits or childcare vouchers to pay for @HCC?
Yes, some of our childcarers are registered so you can access tax credits or childcare vouchers. @HCC is ideal for families with multiple children as we charge a flat hourly rate instead on per head. Shared holiday care is an affordable way of using @HCC without the expense falling on one family. You can keep costs down by sharing of local families can club together to share the cost of a home childcarer.

How do I book?
Please ring the office to request a family visit. The family visit is essential in our matching process and is an opportunity for you to meet a @HCC representative face to face. We will explain the service in greater detail, whilst assessing your childcare needs. At this stage we will complete a job profile containing details of your needs and expectations, so that if you wish to go ahead, we can match you with a childcarer.  It is also an opportunity for you to answer any questions you may have about the service and to discuss issues such as risk assessment.

Please ring our office on 0845 0760 042 for more information about holiday care and how to book.
