@HCC was featured in the Nottingham Evening Post in June. The focus of the article was our non-standard hours services and the positive impact we have on families and childcarers. Many thanks to the childcarer and family involved for their contributions. The story has been a great success helping to promote our work in many ways. Our Family Drop In Day |
@HCC had a first ever Drop in Day for families on Saturday 25th November. The event was held in Sherwood and families were targeted from the surrounding areas. The aim of the Drop In was to give families an opportunity to meet some of our childcarers and find out more about @HCC. We had a range of fun activities for children such as storytelling and Christmas arts & crafts. The feedback we have received from families is very positive. Further Drop In Days are planned in other areas of Nottinghamshire. A big thank you to all staff who attended the event; your support contributed to the success of the day. |

BBC Radio Nottingham Male Nannies Debate |
Back in September, I received an unexpected call from BBC Radio Nottingham. They invited @HCC on the mid morning programme to contribute to a discussion about male nannies. Male nannies has been in the news recently with several national newspapers featuring articles about the increasing demand for their services because families are now more open to the idea of hiring a male nanny. Owen, one of our male childcarers, and I had a brief discussion with the presenter, Fran Finn. The debate was brief but it raised issues such as vetting of male childcarers and why men might be interested in childcare. @Home Childcare has always had a strong diversity and inclusiveness ethos. We believe male childcarers can offer quality childcare and are a good alternative for some families as long as the childcarer, male or female, is fully vetted and has all of the qualities and knowledge that you would expect from all childcarers. |
