Course Description:
The CACHE Introduction to Childcare Practise (ICP) is the first unit of the Diploma in Home-based Childcare. The course is delivered over 2 consecutive Saturdays and another Saturday, usually 1 month later. On the third Saturday, a 45 minute mutiple choice questionnaire, mandatory for the CACHE qualification, is taken. This course is particularly useful for applicants who would like to qualify for Ofsted registration.
Our 16 hour ICP course is more thorough that other ICP courses because we have included additonal underpinning knowledge specially aimed at covering the Common Core of Skills and Knowledge for the Children's Workforce within the context of providing childcare within the child's own home. The course covers the CACHE ICP syllabus and further information related to the 5 Every Child Matters outcomes. The 45 minute multiple choice test is also included in the 16 hours.
Suitable for:
Home childcarers such as nannies and childminders who may already have first hand experience of childcare but would like a nationally recognised qualification to cement their knowledge and skills.
