Are you interested in a fun, rewarding & well-paid part-time job involving working with primary-aged children?

We are currently recruiting for a Before & After School Childcare Home Childcarer (Nanny) to provide childcare in the family’s own home for a 6 year old boy.  A driver with your own car is essential. Mileage will be paid and a free car parking space is available at the family’s home.

This is the ideal, fun and rewarding part-time job to fit in with other commitments.

It is essential that you have the skills and experience to positively engage children with after school routine/activities in their safe home environment.

The role is ideal if you have the relevant experience of working with children such as voluntary or paid school-based work, school support work, nursery work, summer camps, sports/performing arts coaching, guides/scouts leaders and youth work. A DBS check and reference will be required.

Details:

  • Tuesday – Thursdays
  • AM: 7 – 8.30 (paid for 2 hours minimum)
  • PM: 4 – 7.15

The role involves picking up the child from school and walking them home. Once home, you will need to: 

  • Talk to him about his school day and their other interests 
  • Plan fun activities based on the his individual interests, e.g. board games, imaginary play, soft ball tennis, lego, reading
  • Assisting with homework such as spelling or their reading books 
  • Prepare healthy snacks or a light meal for the children. 
  • Encourage positive behaviour amongst his home environment 
  • Sharing information with parents about their child e.g. any incidents which may have happened at school or whilst in your care 
  • Being proactive about supervision with an energetic 6 year old ensuring risks are minimised to keep them safe.

Some holiday childcare work is available and hours can be topped-up by housekeeping, if needed.

Although childcare or play work qualifications are desirable, they are not mandatory because as we will provide you with the required training including paediatric first aid, safeguarding children and health, safety and children’s well-being.

  • You are a suitable person with no criminal convictions that would affect your ability to work with children 
  • In good heath to be active with children 
  • You are available to work the hours required
  • Have good levels of English & Maths to help children with their homework
