About me
I am a caring, friendly and family-focused mum with over 10 years experience working in a hospital environment, supporting and caring for adults and working around surgical care. This experience has taught me the importance of patience, responsibility, communication, professionalism and treating every person as an individual.
Being a mum myself inspired me to create Rooted Together Childminding. I understand how important it is for parents to know that their child feels safe, happy, comfortable and genuinely cared for. I provide a warm, home-from-home environment where children can develop strong relationships, be themselves and feel that they belong.
My aim is to help children build strong roots for their future by developing their confidence, independence, social skills and love of learning. I believe children learn best when they are given opportunities to play, explore, be creative, spend time outdoors and follow their own interests.
I particularly enjoy watching children grow in confidence, learn something new and develop their own individual personalities. Every child develops differently, so I will take the time to get to know each child’s needs, interests, routines and abilities.
What makes Rooted Together different is the personal and flexible childcare I provide. I offer extended opening hours from 8am–7pm, early and late sessions, wraparound care and weekend childcare by prior arrangement.
Most importantly, I want children to be excited to come to my setting and for parents to feel confident that while they are away, their child is being cared for in a safe, nurturing and happy home environment.

- My setting is based in Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6, in a residential area with good access to local amenities and community facilities.
- There are local parks and outdoor spaces nearby which I can use for walks, outdoor learning, nature activities and physical play.
- We have access to Ashton Library, local toddler groups and Tameside Family Hub services, giving children opportunities to socialise and take part in activities within the community.

- Dedicated children’s play and learning room, organised into different areas to support children’s development and interests.
- Cosy reading and quiet area, imaginative and role-play resources, a play kitchen, dolls and small-world toys, creative activities, construction and puzzles, as well as a table for drawing, crafts and other planned learning activities.
- Enclosed garden for outdoor play, physical activity and learning in the fresh air.
- Water and messy play, growing and planting, exploring nature and outdoor creative activities
- I regularly rotate resources and activities according to the children’s ages, interests and stages of development.
- Alongside using my home and garden, I take children on suitable outings to local parks, the library, toddler groups and other community activities.
- My aim is for Rooted Together to feel like an extension of the child’s own home: comfortable and nurturing, while also providing stimulating opportunities to play, explore, learn, build confidence and grow.
