Caroline Westray: Little Learning Tree
Nurturing, child-centred setting
Lots of features and play resources children will enjoy including a large well-equipped garden
Hello, I’m Caroline and I am thrilled to a registered childminder educator, providing home-based childcare service for local families. It’s a dream fulfilled!
Most of my experience comes from caring for 7 nieces and nephews of varying ages, as well as my own children aged 13, 9 and 4. We also have a baby tortoise as our family pet.
I love going on local walks and fun trips with my own children and I offer the same level of care and fun educational activities to your child, as I do with my own. I have also volunteered at my local primary school which I have really enjoyed and learned a lot from.

The Little Learning Tree is in the Basford (NG6 0HT) area of Nottingham, a fairly central area with good bus and tram links to the city centre.
I am lucky enough to have three lovely parks close to my house. One of the parks has pond where we can go feed the ducks, geese and swans. We also use it to go blackberry picking. The parks and woodlands is a good place for children learn about the world around us.
About my home setting
The Little Learning Tree is a home-from-home environment where play-led learning, both indoors and outdoors, is based around the early years curriculum.
I have a dedicated playroom which will be the main room where the activities take place e.g. painting, drawing, role playing, music instruments making and playing and crafts. There is also a front room for more relaxed/quiet activities like story time, games, sensory mats and toys. It is also the place where the children can nap if they need to. I am a great believer in children eating and enjoying healthy, home cooked meals which I serve daily. Baking is another love of mine especially for the learning opportunities, so be ready to sample your child’s home bakes.
Our large back garden is the ideal place for children to explore and have fun with outdoor activities such as natural den building, ball games, sensory or simply relaxing to look at the sky through the leaves and branches of our large apple tree.
