Wanderland Nature School
Childminder in Carlton, Nottinghamshire (NG4)
About me
My name is Jesinta, and I have 8 years of experience working with SEN children and adults under Nottingham Autism Support Service, as well as some teaching assistant work with Teaching Personnel. I am a registered, DBS-checked, and qualified childminder, committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children.
I am passionate about providing a child-centred approach to learning and development. There is no “one size fits all”—every child is different. As a smaller, more holistic setting, we can truly engage with each child who joins us, supporting their learning and development at their own pace.
I am a mother of two children under 7, and after having my own children and working in SEN, I began exploring different approaches to parenting and education. This journey led me to a more holistic approach, with a strong focus on nature and nurture.
At Wanderland, we offer something unique—a blend of home-based childminding with a forest school-style approach and setup.

We open Tuesdays and Thursdays and Fridays only. After School Care and Easter Holiday Club places available on request.

About my home setting
Our Nature School consists of a large outdoor area designed for free play, exploration, and hands-on learning. We have a wild nature area with a mud kitchen and a chicken coop, home to our three resident chickens who love to get involved! There’s also a sensory garden cabin, a sports astro area for team games, bikes, and scooters, and a pond—perfect for watching tadpoles grow into frogs.
Children can enjoy planting areas, where they can try their hand at growing flowers and vegetables, as well as an outdoor painting station and a calming swing for moments of rest. A small outdoor building offers a quiet space for relaxation, while the patio area, overlooking all of Carlton, is the perfect spot for snacks and lunchtime with our little ones.
As well as being outdoors, children have access to the cabin, where they can snuggle up with a blanket and a book or rest on the nap mats if needed. When the weather isn’t ideal—such as during high winds—we use the indoor playroom, kitchen, and dining room space, stocked with books and various toys to keep little ones engaged.

Jesinta's Inspection Reports
As a newly registered childcare provider, she may still be in the early stages of her quality and safety checks process. Initial visits focus on supporting new providers and checking that required standards are in place. These visits do not result in a quality grade.
A quality grade is awarded following a full inspection, which usually takes place around 10 to 14 months after registration.
