About My Setting
All @Home Childcare childminder settings are fully risk-assessed and inspected to ensure they are safe and suitable premises for children.
I am very lucky to provide a service to local families in an early years childminding setting based in a clean, beautiful community space. It is set up in a fun and exciting nursery-style environment that children love to explore, with the added benefit of much smaller adult-to-child ratios because it is run by childminders.
Our setting is safe, nurturing and exciting – with designated areas, resources and toys all set out with the thought of having your little ones to come learn, play and grow into confident school-ready children.
Activities
Our days and activities are all based on the Early Years Curriculum and its core principles. We plan and encourage a holistic approach to our weekly schedule with a theme of the week or the fortnight, so the key learning principles are provided for your little ones in various fun ways, all the while ensuring it is tailored to meet your child’s needs, age and abilities.
Story Time: Children sit together on the carpet in a circle and enjoy a story chosen by the group.
Messy Play: Children wear aprons while exploring coloured water play with toys, and also enjoy our sandpit, with any spills cleaned immediately.
Arts and Crafts: Each week follows a theme with various painting techniques (finger, hand, sponge, potato, brush), along with craft activities linked to celebrations such as Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Christmas, and Easter.
- Nature: We visit the local park daily, noticing flowers, trees, and animals on the way, and sometimes feed the ducks at the pond.
- Educational: Children develop early phonics and early maths skills through counting and simple games.
- Entertainment: Children choose nursery rhyme flashcards for singing and dancing, and enjoy games like musical statues and disco role play.
All @Home Childcare childminders follow the EYFS to ensure every child’s learning and develoment is supported, as well as get to know each child on an individual basis and tailor activities to their needs.
