Nancy Jijita
Childminder in Gipton, Leeds (LS8)
About me
I am a mother of four young adults with extensive practical experience supporting children through all stages of their development. I strive to foster a safe, structured, and loving environment where children feel valued. I understand that every child is unique, and my desire is to help each child develop into the best version of themselves. My own challenges in finding suitable childcare inspired me to become a childminder, and I am passionate about providing a local, inclusive, and nurturing service that supports both children and their families.
I promote an environment where every child feels seen, respected, and confident to express themselves, while encouraging cohesion and inclusion of children from different ethnic backgrounds, faiths, and beliefs. I have a strong educational background, including a BA degree and a Diploma in Health and Social Care (Level 2), giving me a good understanding of people’s needs, values, and the importance of community support.
I have over 20 years of experience working as a support worker with vulnerable elderly people and individuals with special needs, both in care homes and in their own homes. This has helped me develop patience, compassion, and a strong awareness of safeguarding. I also have experience caring for a child with special needs, which has strengthened my ability to provide inclusive and personalised care, and follow the EYFS whilst recognising that every child has unique needs.
